The Half Windsor makes more of a statement than the Four In Hand. To begin, button your shirt and flip your collar up. Drape the necktie around your collar so that the wide end extends about twelve inches beyond the narrow end of your tie. Cross the wide end over the narrow end. Bring the wide end up around and behind the narrow end. Pull the wide end up through the center loop at your neck. Bring the wide end around and over the front of the tie from right to left. Once again, bring the wide end down through the knot in front. Gently pull the side end all the way through, carefully tightening the knot. Hold the narrow end, push up the knot and tighten it snugly around your collar. Put your collar down and make a dimple in the knot by pinching the base of the knot around your forefinger.
The Double Windsor knot is a fat, beautiful knot that projects confidence. To begin, button your shirt and flip your collar up. Drape the necktie around your collar so that the wide end extends about twelve inches beyond the narrow end of your tie. Cross the wide end over the narrow end. Bring the wide end up through the loop between your collar and the tie. Bring the wide end back down and back under the narrow end. Bring the wide end over the front of the tie from right to left. Bring the wide end up through the loop again and down through the knot in front. Using both hands, draw the knot up carefully to your collar. Put your collar down and make a dimple in the knot by pinching the base of the knot around your forefinger.
